CROWNED: A Back-to-School Celebration for Black Girls

CROWNED: A Back-to-School Celebration for Black Girls

A joyful experience designed to help young girls embrace their identity, confidence, and God-given purpose as they step into a new school year.

Presented by The Melanie Dolls Foundation, CROWNED is a 501(c)(3) community event created to celebrate and encourage Black girls ages 5–18 as they prepare for the upcoming school year. Taking place on August 1, 2026, in Houston, Texas, the event brings mothers and daughters together for a meaningful day filled with inspiration, sisterhood, creativity, and connection.

Through an inspiring speaker panel, mother connection moments, an arts and crafts crown workshop, and the signature Royalty Runway, CROWNED creates space for girls to feel seen, celebrated, and reminded of their worth. The experience is centered on helping young girls understand that their value comes from who God says they are, not from outside influences. As they begin a new school year, CROWNED encourages every girl to walk confidently in her identity, knowing that she is loved, chosen, capable, and crowned for greatness.

RSVP deadline: 7/25/2026
